We are a small but mighty collection of creative explorers!

Our story began with an idea.
Grew into a place where imaginations run free and friendships blossom.

Since 2003, Purple Dog Art Studio has been a place where creativity thrives, and young artists are encouraged to dream big.
Now under the ownership of Audrey Kuskowski, our mission remains the same: to provide a positive, hands-on environment where children can imagine, explore, create,
and appreciate art. At Purple Dog, we celebrate freedom of expression and believe in the power of art to inspire confidence, creativity, and joy.

We offer year-round art classes, summer and holiday art camps, and parties that let kids dive into all things art—from drawing and painting to sculpture, clay, and mixed media. Here, kids can truly be themselves while discovering the magic of making art.

And art isn’t just for kids! We also offer classes for adults, making Purple Dog a space for everyone to explore their artistic side.
Whether you’re a young artist or young at heart, we can’t wait to share the creative magic of Purple Dog Art Studio with you and your family!

Audrey's creative escapades started as early as preschool, with her imagination running wild and her hands diving into all sorts of messy, marvelous materials. By high school, she was painting self-portraits with pencil shavings mixed in acrylic paint and covering her room in wallpaper made from photos, magazine clippings and collected mementos. She’s the kind of person who could turn a pile of random supplies into a masterpiece (or at least a delightful mess). Fast forward a bit, and she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design, specializing in Advertising & Graphic Design with a minor in Fine Arts. She strutted out with her diploma in 2014, ready to conquer the world!

Over the years, Audrey’s professional life has been a blend of teaching, inspiring, and bringing joy to children and families. She has worked as a substitute teacher, a summer camp site supervisor, and a creative mentor in various educational roles. Most recently, she’s been a beloved figure at New Albany Primary School, where students affectionately call her Miss Ski, where she’s known for sprinkling her magic all around ensuring positivity, creative energy, and unwavering support for both kids and staff never stops flowing.

Before stepping into her dream role as the owner of a creative space, Audrey honed her skills running creative summer camp classes, juggling various management roles, and serving as a lead instructor at Purple Dog Art Studio. Her dedication and passion didn’t go unnoticed—students, parents, and colleagues alike couldn’t help but see her warm spirit full of creativity and care.

Now, as the proud owner of Purple Dog Art Studio, Audrey is combining her artistic talent with her keen understanding of children’s developmental needs to create a space where imaginations thrive. The studio will be a haven where young minds and adults alike are free to explore their imaginations and artistic potential. With her commitment to top-notch instruction and a personalized approach, Purple Dog Art Studio will continue to be a beloved fixture in New Albany’s arts scene.

When she’s not at the studio, Audrey’s green thumb keeps her busy in the garden. She’s a firm believer in the magic of art in nature and how it can inspire, educate, and bring people together, no matter their age. Audrey's story is one of boundless creativity, endless enthusiasm, and a sprinkle of whimsy. She’s on a mission to make the world a more colorful, creative place– one artistic adventure at a time!
