Description
Enameling is an ancient art in which glass is fused to metal by firing. Relatively new “cold” techniques use glossy paint or epoxy resin on metal to simulate fused enamel.
In this class, we will use an easy method to mimic the “cold” technique by embossing a design into soft tooling metal, then filling the cells with tempera paint. Tempera paint is water-based and dries with a high gloss finish. It flows into recessed areas and can be easily lifted with a damp paper towel.
In this class, students will create a 6″x6″ enamel piece. Pieces will need to be left at the studio overnight to dry and be mounted to boards. Students will be notified when pieces are ready for pick up.
All supplies included. Cost is $35.00 per person.
